The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) for the United States of America wishes its members a wonderful holiday season and New Year!
We thank our members for helping further SDSN USA’s mission of building pathways for achieving the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement in the United States by mobilizing research, outreach, and collective action.
Throughout 2023, SDSN USA members collaborated in unique ways to advance sustainable development nationwide by:
Hosting high-level events on critical sustainable development topics, including the U.S. Summit on Transformative Education and the city of Cleveland’s first Decarbonization Summit.
Engaging in 16 events throughout the year, including networking meetings and a Youth Knowledge XChange with youth from the US, Canada, Mexico, and Australia/NZ/Pacific.
Collaborating with Mission 4.7 on critical solutions-oriented initiatives, including the "Fostering Youth-Led Innovation for the SDGs" webinar series— which was followed by a white paper released at COP28 in Dubai titled, "Fostering Youth-Led Innovations to Accelerate Progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: A Guide for Policymakers".
Expanding the network to 187 members through the acceptance of new members, including Rutgers University–Newark, Social Impact Movement, St. Olaf College, Center for Urban Ecology Sustainability (CUES) at Butler University, Data-Pop Alliance, and University of Alabama at Birmingham.
This year we welcomed Carnegie Mellon University as a new SDSN USA co-host and Amb. Sarah Mendelson as the newly appointed Co-Chair of the network. In addition, SDSN USA’s Co-Chairs shared their expertise on sustainable food and land use and climate education through the SDSN Op-ed Series during this year’s COP in Dubai.
