This 2-hour virtual event will engage participants in discussion on the hunger crisis in the United States, including causes, context, responses, and opportunities, through the lenses of equity, resilience, sustainability, and health/nutrition.
A draft situational analysis paper, written by a capstone class of students at Auburn University, will be circulated to registered participants prior to the dialogue. Following a brief presentation, participants will be divided into breakout groups for active and respectful discussion on this topic. One breakout period will focus on the situational analysis overall, and another will invite participants to divide into groups focusing on equity, resilience, sustainability, and health/nutrition for topical reflections. After the event, a dialogue summary will be circulated and the feedback incorporated into the final analysis paper.
The dialogue is the second in a series of conversations focusing on barriers and opportunities to achieve Zero Hunger in the United States, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The dialogue series will contribute to a report outlining social, policy and technical recommendations to reach Zero Hunger and identifying education, engagement, and research activities the SDSN USA coalition and partners can undertake to reach Zero Hunger in the United States by 2030.
We invite you to join as an active participant in this dialogue, and to share with colleagues whose expertise and interests are relevant to the topic.
