Join us on March 29 at 4pm Eastern for Improving Health and Nutrition Outcomes through SNAP: A dialogue on evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
This 2-hour virtual event will explore a concrete set of recommendations to strengthen SNAP as a means to contribute to ending hunger in the U.S. while ensuring improved health, equity, sustainability, and resilience. The discussion will bring together a cross-disciplinary group of experts to explore proposed changes and provide critical feedback, which will be summarized in a post-dialogue brief, used in education and engagement activities, and incorporated into a broader Zero Hunger Pathways Report. Recommendations and supporting reference materials will be circulated to registered participants prior to the event.
The dialogue is the first in a series of conversations focusing on barriers and opportunities to achieve Zero Hunger in the United States, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The dialogue series will contribute to a report outlining social, policy and technical recommendations to reach Zero Hunger and identifying education, engagement, and research activities the SDSN USA coalition and partners can undertake to reach Zero Hunger in the United States by 2030.
Note: We particularly welcome attendees with knowledge of and/or experience with the SNAP program and evidence-based research on this topic to attend, and encourage those who are simply interested to learn more to keep an eye out for the event summary and recording which will be available on the SDSN USA website (www.sdsnusa.org) following the dialogue.
