We are thrilled to announce that SDSN USA welcomes a new co-host: Carnegie Mellon University! CMU is dedicated to aligning its education, research, and practice with the framework of the SDGs and is keen on elevating a focus on data to advance the 2030 Agenda. The new university co-host is looking forward to actively working with the member base to accelerate progress on the SDGs in the US during this critical mid-point on the path to 2030.

Produced in partnership between the Entrepreneurship and Environment at the University of Waterloo and Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, this series will explore ‘how’ and ‘why’ transformative approaches to education can be used as a vehicle for empowering young people to drive the type of innovations and entrepreneurial ventures that are necessary to drive progress on the 2030 agenda. 

Open Call for Standing Members: EcoInnovation Network Youth Leadership Steering Committee

SDSN Canada, SDSN USA, and SDSN Mexico are pleased announce a new partnership with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) to oversee and develop programming for the North American EcoInnovation Network. This EcoInnovation Network convenes university-based innovation centers from across the continent with the goal of encouraging youth-based innovation and entrepreneurship rooted in sustainability.

On February 1, 2023, SDSN USA hosted a webinar on the incentives and opportunities available to universities in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), a bill passed by the United States Congress in 2022 with implications and incentives for a clean energy transition. The event featured a presentation and Q&A with Courtney Kishbaugh, the Director of Innovation Projects at Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP).

Celebrating an Impactful 2022 with SDSN USA

As 2022 comes to a close, we thank you for your continued engagement with SDSN USA. This year, members have come together to ask questions, share learnings, strengthen coalitions, and develop and share evidence-based policy recommendations across the SDGs. SDSN USA looks back at the ways in which the network has contributed to the advancement of the 2030 agenda in the US, by localizing efforts towards a clean energy transition, revealing inequality during the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting zero hunger, collaborating for transformative education, and much more.
